Personal protection during thunderstorms
2023-09-26
Lightning strikes often occur at high water levels and particularly humid locations, where railway hubs and corners of high-voltage overhead lines are prone to lightning, and antennas, flagpoles, roof metal railings, iron escalators and big trees are also prone to lightning. When encountering thunderstorm should pay attention:
(1) In the room, close the doors and windows to avoid passing through the hall to prevent ball lightning from entering the room.
(2) Turn off the power of the radio, tape recorder, TV, etc., and ground the outdoor antenna without making phone calls.
(3) Keep away from beams, metal pipes, windows and electric light lines, telephone lines, broadcast lines, antennas and other wires.
(4) In case of thunderstorms outdoors, first, the position of the human body should be reduced as much as possible to avoid protrusion; second, the two feet should be as close as possible, and it is best to choose a dry place to squat to reduce the exposed area and ground potential difference.
(5) Do not stand on the top of the mountain, ridge and other high places and lying on the ground.
(6) Do not approach isolated tall buildings, chimneys, flagpoles, poles.
(7) Avoid hiding from the rain under the big tree and beside the haystack.
(8) Keep away from water, rice fields, swimming pools, rivers and lakes.
(9) hoes, shovels, etc. do not carry high.
(10) Don't ride horses or cows. When cycling in the wilderness, the car should be put down. People should stay away from the car and find a lower place to squat down.
(11) When there are many people, they should be spread out as much as possible. When encountering a ball thunder, don't run to prevent the ball thunder from rolling along the airflow.
(12) Stay away from cars with metal roofs or metal bodies, enclosed metal boats, etc.
